Getting Started

Orientation & Tour Itinerary

The orientation for the Women’s Only Kayak Retreat is at 5:00 p.m. the day before your retreat begins. Sandra Zgela, Founder and Creator of the BC Women’s Only Kayak Retreat, will provide information that covers the itinerary for the kayak retreat and answer any questions you may have. We will send you a complete trip Information Package prior to departure that will help prepare you for your trip. Each tour has a unique itinerary based on the groups ability and the weather. We kayak once a day, have one up to 60 minute gentle yoga sessions a day and offer mindful classes in the afternoon. And hopefully we get to whale watch from shore while attending this amazing refreshing retreat.

Trip Itinerary
Day 1

On Day 1, your adventure begins with a convenient pick-up from a designated location at 9 am. You will then embark on a 2-hour drive to reach the launching site. From there, a quick boat ride will take you into the camp.

After arriving at the camp, you can look forward to a delicious lunch around 1:30 pm. If weather conditions permit, an afternoon paddle will be on the agenda. As the day progresses, you can enjoy a refreshing coffee and tea break at approximately 4 pm.

During your downtime, there are various activities available for relaxation and enjoyment. You can indulge in guided yoga session, participate in art activities, or even experience the outdoor sauna.

As evening approaches, dinner will be served at 6:30 pm. Following dinner, there may be an opportunity for a sunset paddle to soak in the breathtaking surroundings. To cap off the day, gather around a cozy campfire for some delightful moments with fellow adventurers.

Please note that this itinerary is subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors to ensure your safety and optimal experience.

Day 2

Day 2 of your retreat will start with a refreshing cup of coffee served at 8 am. Following that, a delicious breakfast will be served at 9 am, providing you with the energy needed for the day’s activities.

After breakfast, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a morning paddle back in base camp. This will not only give you a chance to immerse yourself in nature but also serve as a great exercise for both your body and mind.

Once you return to base camp, a nutritious lunch will be awaiting you. This will be followed by mindfulness practices and an invigorating yoga class in the afternoon. These activities are designed to help you find inner peace and cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness.

As the day winds down, dinner will be served around 6:00 pm, providing you with another delicious meal to satisfy your appetite. For those who have booked a body work massage, this will be the perfect time to indulge and experience even deeper relaxation.

After a full day of kayaking, yoga, mindfulness, and outdoor spa activities, it is time to unwind by gathering around a cozy campfire. This is when you can share stories of the day’s adventures and connect with fellow retreat participants on a deeper level.

Day 2 promises to be filled with enriching experiences that nourish both your body and soul. So get ready to immerse yourself in nature, practice mindfulness, engage in rejuvenating activities, and create lasting memories around the campfire.

Day 3

Day 3 of your retreat sounds like an exciting and fulfilling day! You’ll start your morning with a delicious cup of coffee served at 8 am, followed by breakfast at 9 am. After that, you’ll embark on a morning paddle to the famous borders of Robson Bight Ecological Orca Reserve.

After a morning filled with wildlife encounters, you’ll enjoy a plant-based organic lunch and a hot drink to refuel and relax. Then, it’s time for your last yoga class of the weekend. Yoga can be an excellent way to reflect on your experiences and find inner peace.

As the day winds down, you’ll start preparing to leave camp at around 2:30 pm. The journey back to Campbell River will take approximately two and a half hours, so you can expect to arrive back at around 5 pm.

It seems like you’re in for an incredible day filled with adventure, wildlife sightings, relaxation, and self-reflection. Enjoy every moment!
